Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery
The Waddill Family of Kansas City opened Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery in 1968. They developed a 140-acre cemetery for the Northland and later added a 6,500-square-foot funeral home.
In 1981, an affiliate of Service Corporation International acquired the funeral home and cemetery. As the Highway 169 corridor grew, our cemetery also grew; in 1997 we merged our funeral business operation with the Berger Funeral Home of Smithville, Missouri.
In 2014 Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery and Funeral Home were sold to The Signature Memorial Group, an independent group of experienced funeral home and cemetery operators. It was decided to discontinue the use of Mt. Moriah and use Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery; giving the funeral home and cemetery its own identity from the other cemetery in the Kansas City area. The Humming Bird, the symbol of all things good, was adopted to represent our business in Missouri and Kansas.
The manicured grounds of Terrace Park are home to an assortment of wildlife and offers a variety of traditional burial, lawn and mausoleum crypts; as well as unique cremation options. There is a beautiful glass chapel atop the hill overlooking the picturesque water and rolling hills of North Kansas City’s most beautiful cemetery.
