William Franklin “Frank” Wurtz, 83, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away October 12,2024.
Frank was born on January 25, 1941, in Fort Scott Kansas to Lawrence and Gladys Wurtz. He enlisted in the Navy out of high school and advanced to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After serving in the military, he worked as an airline mechanic for TWA/American Airlines. Frank married the love of his life, Linda Jean Keith, on August 18, 1962, and from this marriage of 57 years they had two children.
He loved working with his hands and could fix almost anything. Frank’s hobbies included fishing, camping, and boating. He spent many hours on the lakes in southern Missouri. He loved country music and often went to shows in Branson, Missouri. He and Linda enjoyed travelling around the country in their RV and helped build churches with the Assemblies of God RV Volunteers.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Linda.
He is survived by his daughter, Alisa (Pat) Longhofer; his son, Lawrence (Valerie) Wurtz; grandchildren, Nathan Longhofer, Benjamin (Olivia) Longhofer, and Petralie Jo Wurtz; sister, Ada Greeley and many other extended family and friends.
Frank will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Services will be held at Northland Cathedral (101 NW 99th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155) on Friday, October 18, with visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am, funeral service from 11:00am to 12:00pm immediately followed by graveside service at Terrace Park.
