William Brandon Nellums Sr., born on October 24, 1945, in Franklin, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love that will be cherished by all who knew him.
William devoted over 33 years of his career to the Ford Motor Company, demonstrating exceptional commitment and professionalism throughout his tenure. After retiring he continued his passion for service by working for Platte County Parks and Recreation, where he dedicated many years to the community until his passing. His colleagues and friends remember him as a hard-working and dedicated employee, always willing to lend a helping hand.
Known for his loving nature, William was a devoted father and grandfather, embodying all the fruits of the Spirit. He cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, filling their lives with warmth and kindness. William was a godly man, exemplifying integrity and patience, traits he instilled in his children, ensuring his values would carry on.
A man of many interests, William had a profound love for cars, he was very fond of his “68” Camaro and enjoyed attending car shows. He was an outdoor enthusiast, relishing time spent fishing and engaging in sports, particularly baseball and bowling. His generous spirit extended beyond his family, as he often mowed his neighbors' lawns, eager to lend a helping hand to those around him.
William is preceded in death by his parents Fredrick and Alice Nellums; and his wife Nancy Lee Nellums.
He is survived by his sons William B. “Dude” Nellums Jr.(Stacey), and C.J. Nellums (Kelly); grandsons Cody and Jesse Nellums; his sister Fredressa Whittenburg; his loving companion, Shirley Anderson; brother-in-law and best friend Bruce West (Elaine), brother-in-law Jim West (Mary); sister-in-law Pat Woods (Dave). As well as numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
William's life will be celebrated on November 8, 2024. The visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Solid Rock Bible Church, located at 2501 NE Parvin Rd., Kansas City, MO 64116. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A graveside service will then occur at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, starting at 12:30 PM, located at 801 NW 108th St., Kansas City, MO 64155.
William Brandon Nellums Sr. will be deeply missed by those who loved him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived.
