Willard Theilmann, 89, of Kansas City passed away July 16th, 2016. Will was born in Kansas City but spent his youth in Tonganoxie with his mother Evilo Green and family. After graduating from high school in Arkansas Pass, TX, Will enlisted in the Army Air Force during WWII. Will retired from TWA after 27 years, followed by another 10 years with the federal government offices. Will attended the University of Kansas where he claims to have majored in playing bridge and has continued ever since. Also he enjoyed fishing, and playing pitch with great neighbors and fellow veterans at the VA home in Warrensburg where he passed away just three weeks shy of age 90.
Will was preceded in death by his first wife Laverne and stepdaughter Carol Luster. Will is survived by his wife Lois Theilmann, her daughter Sharon (Jim) Koch and daughter Rhonda (Pete) Loftus and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday July 29th, 2016 at noon at the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church at 2nd and Douglas streets in Lee’s Summit. Please join us after the service in the church dining room for Food, Fellowship and refreshments. Something we’ve always enjoyed with our friends and family.
Will was tenderly and lovingly cared for by the full staff at our veterans home in Warrensburg . Memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Veterans Home.
