Wilburn "Mac" McDonald

Wilburn "Mac" Thomas McDonald, 85, passed away on March 24, 2022.

Mac was born on April 17, 1936 in Haleyville, Alabama to William and Vera McDonald. At a very young age Mac learned the importance of caring for family and having a strong work ethic. He moved to the Kansas City area when he was 18, eventually retiring as a welder from Cramer Industries. Following his retirement Mac worked for Tiffany Greens Golf Course. He married his loving wife, Susan “Sue” Maguire on April 3rd, 1987 and shared many wonderful years of happiness and laughter together. They enjoyed traveling in their motor home, especially to Texas, where they lived for a short time in San Benito. Mac was a social butterfly who never met a stranger and was a member of many teams and leagues where he golfed, bowled, and shot pool.

Mac is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Tilda Ward and Johnathan and Annie McDonald; his parents, William and Vera McDonald; son, Danny McDonald; sister, Judy Turner; and niece, Heather Kennedy. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife, Sue McDonald and their blended family of children, C.J. McDonald, Keith McDonald, Jeff (Amy) McDonald, Angela (Kevin) Kelly, Matt Wickliffe and Mark Wickliffe; 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; brothers, Billy Ray (Wanda) McDonald, Jack (Diane) McDonald, and Jimmy (Darlene) McDonald; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
