Wilbert "Bill" Auch

Wilbert (Bill) Raymond Auch passed away peacefully early morning on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband for 62 years of the late Marcia Auch: loving father of David Auch (Jamie) Derby, KS, Vickie Stewart (Sam) Parkville, MO and Richard Auch (Kristi) Kansas City, MO; cherished Grandfather of Casey Hobson, Brady DePinna, Nathan Stewart, Abigail Millan, Mason Auch; and great grandfather to five.

Bill was born to Ferdinand and Martha Auch on Monday, August 19, 1929 at their farm home in Miller, South Dakota; he was the fourth son of five boys. He married Marcia Parlet on December 3, 1949, setting off on a marriage defined by work and travel! Bill’s work career took him to numerous communities all over the Midwest. Working for the Milwaukee Railroad, building mobile homes for Chief Industries, and owner of a Vic’s popcorn franchise; filled his work life until 2000 when they returned to Kansas City to retire.

From the mayor of a small Iowa town to the President of the Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Bill took a leadership role in most of the towns they resided. His leadership skills were also used at each church they attended through various committees and boards. Bill was one of those guys who could fix most anything and he loved to work on his 1929 Model A. He led his family with love and by setting a life example. 

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, February 11^th from 1:00 to 2:00 with a service to follow from 2:00 to 2:30 at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 N.W. 108^th Street, Kansas City, MO. Interment will follow the service for immediate family only.
