Kenny Stites, 77, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Monday March 23, 2015, at NKC Hospital, after a long illness.  Friends and family may visit Wednesday April 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St.(169 Hwy & Shoal Creek Parkway), Kansas City MO.  There will be a Masonic Service held at 7:30 p.m.
Kenny was born on March 15, 1938 in Akron, OH, to Wesley and Genevieve Stites. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Shirley Fry of Sheridan, Wyoming and Bonnie Deal of Jessup, Georgia.
Kenny was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers’ Local Union #124 for 46 years.  He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years, and was a long time member of the Rising Sun Masonic Lodge.  Kenny was a resident of Lake Waukomis, MO for over 40 years and was active in lake activities, including boating, fishing and making many of his own improvements to his home.  He was an avid fan of stock car racing and Kansas City sports teams.  He enjoyed attending car shows in the area with his customized Dodge Ram convertible pickup truck.  Kenny made countless friends throughout his life and he will be greatly missed.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughter Robin Summers (Shaun) of Overland Park, KS; son Greg Friday (Ruchira “Ao”) of Santa Ana, CA; 4 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren; one sister, Nellouise Fry of Sheridan, WY; and 12 nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project.
