Wesley Deane Hedrick, age 75 passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28th surrounded by his family. He was born on May 23, 1943 in Kansas City, KS to Brad and Mary Hedrick.
Wesley attended Van Horn High School. Wesley was a very thankful man who enjoyed coaching his kids in sports, fishing, hunting, keeping up with the weather and watching the early seasons of Two and a Half Men. Wesley was the commissioner for Southern Platte County Athletic Association (SPCAA) in the early days, president of the Park Hill Booster Club and treasurer for the Greater Kansas City Jaycees. Wesley’s favorite things to do were traveling, attending grandkids activities and going to Royals games with family and his wife Judi. While working at Sears Credit Union for 32 years, Wesley and Judi started Pro Athlete, Inc in 1987. Pro Athlete, Inc has since put smiles on many faces over the years with their stewardship and delivering millions of bats and gloves to young ball players all over the country.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents Brad and Mary Hedrick, sister Kathy Jo Wilson and sister in law Dottie Hedrick. Left to honor Wesley and remember his love are Wesley’s wife Judi of 51 years, two children Scott (Sherri) Hedrick and (Don) Stephanie Tinsley, six grandchildren, Carter Hedrick, Chandler Hedrick, Cassidy Hedrick, Brady Talken, Paige Talken, Ross Tinsley, brother Roy Hedrick, sister Sandra Hedrick and many nieces and nephews.
On Saturday, January 5th at 10am, a Celebration of Wesley’s life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 801 NW 108th Street (Shoal Creek Pkwy). Before the service from 9-10am, there will be a casual gathering for everyone to visit. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to make a donation to your favorite charity, tell someone you haven’t in a while that you love them and pray for the Royals to get back to the playoffs.
