Wes Wooten, a dedicated and faithful man of Christ, passed away on December 27, 2023. Born on August 11, 1942, Wes led a remarkable life that touched the hearts of many. He married the love of his life, Lennis Woods on January 11, 1961, and together they became one.
Wes began his career with TWA in 1961 and worked tirelessly for the airline for an impressive span of 36 years. He started as an airplane cleaner and steadily climbed the ranks until he achieved the prestigious position of a pilot. For five years, Wes served as Captain and Check Airman, flying both domestically across America and internationally, showcasing his expertise in aviation.
Throughout his life, Wes was driven by his profound faith and dedication to God. He was an active member of Northland Cathedral and served as a pastor for the Assembly of God. Wes's commitment to spreading God's word extended beyond the church walls. He regularly shared Bible scriptures and sent weekly emails to friends of faith. His conversations were filled with wisdom and humor, always finding their way back to matters of spirituality.
Wes Wooten will be dearly missed by his family, friends, colleagues at TWA, fellow church members, and all who knew him. His unwavering faith, wise counsel, and warm sense of humor will forever be cherished. In celebrating his life, let us remember the legacy of love, kindness, and devotion he imparted upon all those he encountered.
Surviving Wes is his loving wife, Lennis; four children: Debbie (Marc) Cravens, Don (Jamie) Wooten, Lana (CJ) Stenner, and John (Nikki) Wooten; twelve grandchildren: Amanda, Wesley, James, Jordan, Jenna, Colton, Cameron, Isaiah, Sophia, Gabriela, Jakob, and Lola; as well as his five great grandchildren: Milly, Frances, Hazel, Riley, and Walker.
