WARREN L. DONOVAN
Warren L Donovan, 92, of Kansas City passed away on September 9, 2015 in Arkansas City, Kansas.
A celebration of life, where family and friends may gather is planned for Wednesday evening, September 16th from 5—8 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St, Kansas City MO.
Warren was born July 5th, 1923 near Weston, Missouri to Arthur and Clara Donovan and made his home in the North Kansas City area all of his life.
He worked as a young man with J.C Nichols, and later became an executive for TWA airlines. He was director of the design and building of the TWA overhaul base, which is located near KCI.
Warren’s passion was flying. He flew is own plane, but was privileged to pilot a number of TWA jets upon occasion. After retirement, he joined a group of engineers that rebuilt the TWA Constellation airplane for the “Save a Connie” Foundation. He flew that aircraft back to Kansas City from the aircraft graveyard in the Arizona desert.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie, his parents and 6 other siblings. Survivors include multiple nieces and nephews.
