Wanda Rogers

WANDA S. ROGERS, 94, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away March 4, 2013.  Funeral service will be 1 pm, Friday, March 8th at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Interment Chapel with visitation one hour prior.  Mrs. Rogers was born August 9, 1918 in Clinton, Iowa. She was a caring mother and loving wife to John for 67 years. She taught her children everything they needed to be good, productive and happy. She worked tirelessly to maintain the household and bore the brunt of child bearing while John worked double shifts.  She always fought for what was important to her and she passed down her knowledge and passion for cooking, nature and adventure and led by example to be hard working, giving and persevering. She is missed but will remain warm in our hearts until we are together again.  She is preceded in death by John W. Rogers, Sr. in 2006. Wanda is survived by 7 children, John W. Rogers, Jr., James Rogers, Carolyn Rogers, Wayne Rogers, Loretta Rogers, Rita Bishop and Betty Swoffer; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
