Wanda Lee Kalsu of Kansas City North passed away November 5, 2012 at the age of 95. Wanda was born September 18, 1917 in Fairland, Oklahoma, and was one of four daughters born to Maude and Louis Overmiller. She grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Central High School there and from Oklahoma State University in 1940. There she met her future husband, Charles Kalsu. They were married June 29, 1940. Preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters, her husband of 57 years in 1997, and their only daughter, Charlene Owings.Wanda Lee was a long-time member of North Cross United Methodist Church where services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation is from 1:00-2:00-p.m. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery.Her interest in life included tutoring, writing, gardening, workouts at the YMCA, and volunteering at her church in many different areas. She had a life-long passion for educating children. In 1947 she founded Antioch Nursery Pre-School, later known as Little Folks School, the school that has evolved in Oak Hill Day School. Wanda would like to thank Garden Valley Nursing for the wonderful and compassionate care given to her. She is very grateful for all her friends and for enjoying a long and fun filled life.
