Walter Alan Ure

Walter Alan Ure, 88, passed away September 30, 2010 at Garden Valley in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on December 31, 1921 to Walter and Alice (Sitterly) Ure. Walter was married to Rebekah Jennings in 1946 and they shared over 63 years together. Walter worked for Sealright Co. for 39 years, before retiring in 1985. He was a past member of Stephens Memorial Methodist Church and a Mason of Roger E. Sherman Masonic Lodge. Walter spent years at his hobbies of stamp and coin collecting. He is survived by his wife, Rebekah; children, Marilynn (Dave) Augustin, Lawrence (Kathy) Ure, Barbara (Greg) Lacy and 6 grandchildren, Alyssa (Scott) Hayles, Amy Augustin, Kerstin Ure, Erik Ure, Courtney Lacy, Blair Lacy and great-granddaughter, Vivian Hayles.The family would like to thank the staff at Garden Valley and Hospice for all the care and support given to Walter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NorthCare Hospice; 2900 Clay Edwards Dr; North Kansas City, MO 64116Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 4 at Mount Moriah Terrace Park.
