Vickie Gail Phillips, 61, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on June 3, 2021.
Vickie was born on July 21, 1959 in Osceola, Arkansas. As a young girl, her family moved to the Kansas City area, where she later graduated from Winnetonka High School. Vickie spent 25 years working in the banking industry. She began her second career as manager for the Payless car rental division at KCI airport. In 2003, she met her best friend and love, David Phillips, and the two were married in 2009. Vickie enjoyed life to the fullest. She cherished spending time with her family, listening to classic rock, vacationing, with her favorite trips being to the ocean, spending lots of time outdoors planting flowers and maintaining her lawn. Vickie is preceded in death by her father, Aaron Smith of Osceola, Ar. and sister, Angela Schmitt of Kansas City, MO. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her parents, Louis and Patsy Schmitt of Kansas City, MO.; husband, David Phillips of Kansas City, MO.; daughter, Kelly (Vernon) Huth of Kansas City, MO.; son, Kenny(Kristy) McPike of Kansas City, MO.; grandchildren, Chloe Woods (Luke Unger) , Kaylee (Salvatore) Calandrino, Lily McPike, Carson Huth, Tucker McPike; great-grandchildren Ashton & Domnick Calandrino; Brothers, Stanley Smith of Arkansas , William (Rhonda) Smith of Tennessee, Timmy Lee Smith of Arkansas; step brother Stephen (Cecilia) Schmitt of Liberty, step sister Paula ( Gary) Frey of Ohio; sister in laws, Patricia Becker and Cheryl Stanton of Indiana and many nieces, nephews friends and family that will continue honoring her legacy. Her warm, generous spirit, infectious high energy attitude, and her loyal until the very end personality will be missed by everyone she knew, every single day.
Services will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery on Thursday, June 10th, with the visitation held from 12:00PM to 2:00PM, followed by the funeral service and burial. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
