Valentina Kadochnikova

April 5, 1928 — April 25, 2017

Valentina Kadochnikova passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at age 90. She was in her home in Kansas City, MO, surrounded by her loved ones.

From her birth on April 5, 1927 to her death on Tuesday, she nourished all those around her with love. She was born in a small village called Berdanka to Galina and Ivan Varenik and was the second oldest of four children. In 1935, her family moved to Alma-Ata in Kazakhstan and Valentina started school. After finishing only seven years of school, her life was flipped upside down by the beginning of WWII. Her older brother and father were sent to war while her mother had to work in a factory. This left Valentina to tend and to take care of her two younger siblings all on her own. At the young age of twelve, she had to provide food and shelter for her family. Valentina has been a caretaker and a giver of steadfast love ever since. In 1945, as the war ended, she entered technical school to become an accountant.  She started her career in as a credit inspector in a city by the name of Pavlodar. She was then transferred to Michaylovnka, where she met and later married Peter Kadochnikov in 1951. They then relocated to Frunze, Kirgistan, followed by Rubachie, where they finally settled. The young couple conceived  three children:, Galina, Nikolay, and Ura. Valentina quit her accounting job to stay home and tend to them. She later lost her husband to a car accident and her son Ura to an incident at work.  Later in her life, she relocated with her daughter Galina and her close family to the United States, where she spent the last 20 years of her life. Valentina has always been a rock for all of her children and grandchildren and their families. She kept contact with all the relatives and was the first one to respond in the time of need. Up until her last days, she continued to send countless packages and transactions to Russia, supporting her close and distant relatives. She was the core that held all pieces of such a spread out family together. Valentina was always there to be the giver she was: whether that be with care, advice, or love. She was truly selfless and will forever reside in the hearts of those who kept her closest. She knew more Russian folk songs than most people currently in Russia [some of these songs had to be censored], and had such a sense of humor that always kept people around her laughing.

Left to honor Valentina and remember her love are her two children, Galina Galoyan and Nikolay Kadochnikov; seven grandchildren; Veronika McDonald, Vladislav Galoyan, Peter Kadochnikov, Sergey Kadochnikov, Irina Nikiforova, Ula Boyka, Rita Grebenkena; nine great-grand children, Danka, Lisa, Dasha, Vladislav, Dank, Dasha, Katerina, Mila, Lilly;  sister, Nadejda; and many nieces and nephews.

Valentina was preceded in death by her parents, brother Zheng, brother Volodya and son Ura.

Valentina will be remembered as a bright shining light and ultimately, a giver in those who have been fortunate enough to know her.
