V. Burnette

Joel Burnette, 40, of Kansas City, MO, died in his home on Tuesday, February 12. Funeral services are 10:00 am Tuesday February 19th at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, with visitation 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to one of Joel's favorite charities, Salvation Army. He was raised in Gladstone, MO, and attended the North Kansas City School District until his graduation in 1991, at Oak Park High School.  Later he graduated from University of Missouri at Columbia with a BA in education. He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity.  He is survived by his parents, Vernon and Gail Burnette, his sister Kimberly (Burnette) Lozano and husband John Lozano, their three sons, Ryan, Gabriel. and Lucas, his maternal grandmother, Mary L. Nance (Granny Sunshine) who wrote to Joel once a week during his four years at MU, and numerous other family members and friends.
