Thomas Lee Randol, son of the late Guy & Ruth (Jones) Randol, was born on May 9, 1937 and departed this life on October 30, 2018. At the time of his passing he was 81 years of age.
Thomas was raised on farms in Plattsburg, Gower and Garden City, Missouri. He was the eighth out of nine total children in his family. After graduating from Smithville High in 1955 he attended Northwest Missouri State for two years and later worked for AT&T for about three years. In 1960 he joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country for two years while being stationed in Germany. After his discharge in 1961 he returned home and began working for Southwestern Bell. While working on a job in Seward, Nebraska he met his soon to be wife, Carolyn Engler. On April 6, 1963 the couple was united in marriage and to this union two sons were born, both whom survive him. He was an active member of Harrisonville United Methodist Church, loved being outdoors and was an avid wood craftsman. He was a very simple, hardworking and reliable man who will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Randol; two sons, Todd Randol and Guy (Connie) Randol; two sisters, Julie Reynolds and Wanda (Bill) Mann; four grandchildren, Brett (Mariah) Randol, Alyssa Randol, Jace Randol and Krystal Randol; and two great-grandchildren, Hunter Randol and Wyatt Randol. He also leaves behind a host of several nieces, nephews, friends and family who will all truly miss him.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Harrisonville United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Shelton and Rev. George Moore officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Terrace Park Cemetery on a later date. If you so desire, memorial contributions may be made in Thomas' memory to the Harrisonville United Methodist Church , the Parkinson's Foundation of the Heartland or Serenity Hospice of Harrisonville.
