Thomas "Tom" Lindahl, 79, of Weston, MO, passed away at home peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2016. Kind and honest, a good husband, father and friend, he was a talented fixer of broken things and always available to help with any project.
Tom was born in Hutchison, Kansas, on May 31, 1937, to the late Theodore Roscoe and Rosetta Malinda (Pieplow) Lindahl. As a scholarship athlete, he played basketball for Pittsburg State University. While working for the US Forest Service in the Pacific Northwest, Tom met and married Marilyn Dawn (Bott) Lindahl. They raised their family in Kansas City where Tom was an educator for over 25 years as a science teacher and school administrator in the Park Hill School District. After retirement, he was an integral part of the family business in Weston. Tom was an avid fan of the Royals and Chiefs and KU basketball; he enjoyed big band music and golfing.
Tom will be deeply missed by his wife Marilyn, son Steve, daughter Kristine, and grandchildren Grant, Graham and Audrey Lindahl, Zofia and Addison Farley, and extended family.
Private services are planned. Memorials in Tom's memory may be made to "Mount Bethel Association", 636 Edward Street, Weston, MO 64098.
