Theodore "Ted" Heckman III

Theodore A. “Ted” Heckman III, 70, of Overland Park, KS; formerly of Parkville, MO, died on Wednesday, January 23, 2019.  He was born in Kansas City, KS to the late Theodore “Art” Heckman Jr. and Dorothy M. (Diether) Heckman on August 14, 1948.

Ted was a good man who loved his family, loved his country and loved his God.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army; worked for the FAA for 31 years as an IT Specialist; was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say of Boy Scouts.   He and his wife Jayme enjoyed traveling the U.S. in his retirement and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was the loving husband of 15 years to Jayme (Thomas) Heckman; loving Dad of Michael (Caroline) Heckman and Stephanie (Justin) Lewis; cherished Grandpa of James, Daniel, Jocelyn, Grayson, Brooklyn and 5 step-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his 2 rescue dogs Bea and Beau.

In addition to his parents, Ted is preceded in death by his first wife Dianne, who died in 2000.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Therese Parish North 7207 NW Highway 9, Kansas City, MO 64152 on Monday, January 28, 2019, at 10:30 AM.  Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM.  Interment with military honors will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.
