Teressa Smith

Teressa Lee Smith, 41, of Kansas City, passed away October 10, 2020.  A visitation will be held from 12pm-1pm with a memorial service to follow at 1:00pm on Monday, December 21 at Terrace Park Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.  Due to the Covid mandate, a limit of 50 people will be allowed in the facility at a time; the memorial service will be livestreamed at terraceparkfuneralhome.com.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home for a fund for Teressa’s children. She loved her children and family dearly.

Teressa was born on May 6, 1979 in North Kansas City to Terry and Linda (Eplee) McIntire.  She attended Crestview Elementary, New Mark Middle School, and Oak Park High School.  Teressa loved music, animals, and was an excellent cook.  She cared deeply for the homeless community and went out of her way many times to help them whenever she could.

Teressa was preceded in death by her grandfather, Vernon Eplee; grandparents, Lawrence and Barbara McIntire; and great grandparents, Virgil and Eva Bain.  She is survived by her four children:  Eddie Smith, Jr., (Annabel), Jacob Smith, Mercedes Smith (Andre) and Essence Hall (Alek); grandchildren:  Mikaylyn, Ariel, Sophia, Abigail, Aubree, Kanon, Simora, and Kaden; her parents, Terry and Linda McIntire; her grandmother, Betty Eplee; her siblings:  Tracy Ray (Justin), Trina Merritt (Matt), Tiffany McDermott (Jimmy), and Terry Joseph McIntire; nieces and nephews:  Shelby Brazelton (Edwin), Savannah Baker (Jake), Sidney Paige (Zach), Spencer Ray, Ashley Ray, Hannah Ray, Mathew Merritt, Brandon Merritt, Cristian Merritt (Caitlin), Lillyan Merritt, Tristen McDermott (Gregg), James McDermott (Gabrielle), Jaimeson McDermott, Joshua McIntire, Jackson McIntire, and Jemma McIntire; great nieces and nephews:  Carson Paige, Rhyder Evanoff, and Raelynn Evanoff; aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.
