Tammie Cude

September 19, 1957 — July 24, 2023

Tammie Roxanne (Springgate) Cude, age 65, of Kansas City, MO (formerly of Washington, Missouri) passed away quietly at home in her sleep on July 24, 2023. Tammie was born on September 19, 1957, in Franklin County, Missouri, the daughter of Robert (Bob) Thomas Springgate and Shirley Alma (Crump) Springgate.

As a child, Tammie moved to Florida with her parents.  After Tammie graduated high school, she enlisted in the United States Navy. She proudly served from April 1976 to June 1978 as an aircraft mechanic; spending some of this time in Spain. After leaving the navy, she gained employment with General Motors in Detroit, Michigan.  Tammie was a member of UAW Local #735 and retired from GM after 25 years of service. While in Michigan, Tammie was an active member of the Belleville Moose Lodge #934 where she made many friends.  Upon her retirement, she moved back to Washington Missouri, where she was an active member of Elks Lodge #1559 and loved serving breakfast every month.  While living in both Michigan and Washington, Missouri, she was on several bowling leagues and won the United States Bowling Congress Four Rivers Senior Female Bowler of the Year in 2014-2015.  After spending a few years in Washington, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, to be closer to her step-brother and family.

Tammie enjoyed life.  She loved spending time with her nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and was always present at any football gathering. She also loved to travel with the family and enjoyed trips to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Riviera Maya, Mexico. Tammie’s most beloved companion was her dog, Tank, who went everywhere with her.  Tank is now adjusting to his new home with her brother and sister-in-law.  She was a great sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend who will be greatly missed by all.

Tammie is survived by her step-brother Dwight (Phyllis) Parker; two nieces Elaina (Tanner) Moats, and Lydia (Guilherme) Gomes and one nephew Landon (Taylor) Parker.  She was recently blessed with two great-nieces, Freya Moats and Cecilia Gomes.  Tammie is also survived by one aunt, Carol Triplett; cousins Shelly Dietrich, Bret (Darlene) Triplett, Kyle (Toni) Triplett, Tina (David) Meyer, Lance Warren, and Todd (Vonda) Warren. Tammie was preceded in death by her parents, Bob Springgate and Shirley Springgate Parker; one brother, Shane Springgate; and several cousins.

Tammie did not wish for a formal funeral service. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
