Susan Shegrud

Susan M. Shegrud, 67, of Smithville, Mo passed away March 18, 2013. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Friday March 22nd at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 18601 N. 169 Hwy, Smithville. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm Thursday, with the Rosary at 6:30 pm at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St, Kansas City, Mo. Burial in Resurrection North Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested NorthCare Hospice of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.Susan was born March 6, 1946 in Kansas City, Mo. She was a 1964 graduate of Bishop Hogan High School, and 1967 graduate of St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing. During 1977 - 1988 she was a continuing education coordinator for the University of Health Sciences Hospital, from 1980 - 1985 was on the advisory committees for the continuing professional education program at U.M.K.C. School of Nursing. Susan retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City in 2001. She was an avid traveler of all 50 states as well as foreign countries including Russia, Turkey and Ireland. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard J. Setter, Sr. Survivors include her husband of 24 years, Donald M. Shegrud, mother, Clara V. Setter, stepdaughter, Sonya Holtzclaw (Tom), grandson, Austin Holtzclaw, siblings, Richard Setter (Marlene), and Loretta Lackey (Donald).
