Susan Ditmars Sakata, 57, of Parkville, Mo., passed away on October 27, 2011 at NorthCare Hospice in North Kansas City. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 3 at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home. Celebration of Life service will be 5 p.m. Friday, November 4 at Park University's Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel; 8700 N. W. River Park Drive; Parkville, MO 64152-3795 Susan was born April 28, 1954 in Lawrence, Kansas to Marvin and Elsie (Davis) Groebe. On March 31, 1984 she married Dan Sakata. She was a graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. She worked for Black & Veatch / HP for 30 years. Survivors include her husband, COL Dan Sakata USA RET; a stepdaughter, Allison Salmon and husband Scott; step-granddaughter, Sydney Salmon; aunts, Wilma Bryan and Lois Holden; four cousins; and numerous friends.
