Steven McCammon

Steven Clarence McCammon, Age 72, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 5th, 2021 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri. He was born August 2, 1948 at Research Medical Center and adopted by Clarence & Mary McCammon.

Steve grew up in North Kansas City and graduated from North Kansas City High School. At the age of 18 Steve started his sales career in printing and dedicated almost 40 years of his life to the industry.  In November of 1970 Steve called upon Harmon Smith Advertising and met who would become his wife, Cindy Gleason.

Steve and Cindy married on October 23rd, 1971 and would have been married 50 years in October of 2021.  They had two children, Corey (Age 48) and Lindsay (Age 44) and raised their family in the Northland. Steve was very involved in the kids sports and activities and was well liked amongst all of the neighbors and friends.   Steve and his family vacationed every year  for over 30 years in Sanibel Captiva, Florida and it was Steve's favorite place.  He was the happiest sitting on the beach, drinking a beer and soaking up the sun.

Steve spent his life knowing he was adopted.  With very little details about his adoption, he was finally able to identify his biological heritage.  Much to his surprise he had 4 biological siblings, all of which lived within  20 minutes of Steve all of these years. He was blessed to have met Pat, Diane, Bruce and Ben in January of 2020 and his only regret was that it didn’t happen sooner.

Steve is survived by his wife Cindy, Son Corey (Teri) and Daughter Lindsay (Aaron). He has 4 grandchildren, Hannah, Anderson, Blair and Ty, each of them were extremely special to Steve in their own way.

A visitation will be held at Terrace Park Cemetery - Lakeside Chapel - on Saturday, May 8th from 12:00pm to 2:30pm, followed by graveside service and burial.
