Steve Lovins, 57, of Camden Point, left this earth peacefully at K.U. Medical Center on Sunday, February 28, 2016, surrounded by his family. He was born on October 12, 1958 in Kansas City to Ed and Bernice Lovins. He bravely fought a battle with pulmonary fibrosis over the course of the last three years.
He leaves behind a long list of people who will miss him dearly, including his loving, devoted wife Cathy of 34 years, daughters Angie (Andy May) and Audrey, grandson Noah Baker; parents Ed & Bernice, brothers Ron (Karen) and Jerry (Nancy), siblings-in-law Debbie & Robert Snodell, Mike Bain, Michelle Sullivan, and beloved dog Buster.
Steve was a machinist for more than 30 years for Huhtamaki Consumer Packaging. He loved any activities he could do with family and friends, including enjoying live music, camping, barbecuing, fishing, golf, homebrewing, and sport shooting. He was an Eagle Scout and played softball and bowled in leagues for many years. He was great at everything he did, achieving a hole-in-one at The Posse and bowling a 298 score, as well as receiving many ribbons while participating in barbecue competitions with friends. He truly lived life to the fullest as long as he was able.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 11 AM-2 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St., Kansas City, MO (www.terraceparkfuneral.com), followed by funeral service and interment on-site.
