Steve Vossmer

Steve Vossmer, 72, died Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Kansas City Hospice House. He was born July 4, 1944 in Kansas City, Kansas to James and Charlotte Vossmer. He grew up in Kansas City, KS and after graduating from high school, attended Kansas State University. While in school, he met and fell in love with Beverly Hamilton. The two were married October 8, 1966. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. Afterward, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri. They enjoyed traveling to the mountains as much as possible and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past October.
Steve is survived by his wife, Beverly; son, Robert; daughter and son-in-law, Debby and Joe Laughlin; grandchildren, Megan, Alex, Anthony and Kaitlyn Laughlin and brother, Tom. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Charlotte Vossmer.
A memorial gathering will be held in Steve’s honor on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 2-4 PM with military honors being rendered at 3 PM at the Terrace Park Lakeside Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Steve’s memory to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145.
