Stephanie Deats Dorward, 60, of Kansas City Missouri passed away on July 20, 2014.
She was born to the late Frank Deats and Elizabeth Dwyer in Morristown, New Jersey on November 3, 1953.
Stephanie was a high school Spanish teacher and A+ Coordinator at Park Hill High School. She was passionate about spreading the love of language and travel to her students. Stephanie was also an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church where she played in the hand bells.
Stephanie is survived by her two children: Sarah Alexander, her husband Brian and daughter Olivia of Shawnee, KS, and Lauren Dorward of Kansas City. She is also survived by her sister, Jody Deats and husband Edward of Glen Gardner, NJ and mother Elizabeth Dwyer of Morristown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to Susan G. Komen or Kansas City Hospice.
A viewing will be held from 4:00pm – 7:00pm Thursday, July 24. The funeral service will be held at 10 am Friday, July 25. Both will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 5409 NW 72nd St, Kansas City, MO 64151. Private burial following the funeral.
