Stanley A. Tyron, 89, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010. Visitation and Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11th. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., to be followed by funeral services from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Mount Moriah Terrace Park, 801 NW 108th St., Kansas City, MO. Stanley was born April 27, 1921 in Baltimore, MD to Hans and Bessie Tyron. He graduated from Ruhl Hartman High School in Kansas City. He served in the Army Air Force from 1942-1945 during WWII where he flew 49 missions in his beloved P-51 Mustang (Little Squirt). After the war Stan went to work in the lumber business and later started Northtown Lumber and others before retiring from the lumber business in 1987. Following his retirement, Stan spent his time strengthening his faith, spending time with his family, and golfing. Stan is lovingly remembered for his greatest joy of faith, family, and talking. Stan was preceded in death by his parents, brother Billy, and sister Ellen. He is survived by his wife, Edna of 68 years; children, Pamela Amberson, Rebecca Tyron, Melissa (Jim) Grinter, Raymond Tyron; brother Eugene Tyron; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
