Stanley "Bud" L. Kroencke, 84, of Gladstone, MO passed away December 15, 2009. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday December 19th at Antioch Bible Baptist Church, 800 NE 72nd Street, Gladstone, MO. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 pm Friday at the church. Interment will be in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association or Crossroads Hospice.Bud was born January 28, 1925 in Higginsville, MO to Leo and Wally (Hanneman) Kroencke, and grew up on a farm in Concordia, MO. He married Shirley J. Lykke on March 17, 1951, they were happily married for 58 years. He worked at TWA, Bill Allen Chevrolet and retired from Fruehauf Trailer in 1989. He was a lifetime member and former president of the Kansas City Archeological Society. Bud played drums in numerous bands in the Concordia and Kansas City areas during the big band swing music era, and later country music at local venues. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, cave exploring, excavating and collecting Indian artifacts. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Wally Kroencke, and brother in law, Glen Christopher. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Kroencke, children, Vicky (Bob) Judish, Boulder, CO, Gary Kroencke, Gladstone, MO, Randy (Cheryl) Kroencke, Kansas City, MO, sister, Gladys Christopher, Higginsville, MO, granddaughter, Thaya (Jason) Fares, and 4 great grandchildren, Audra, Taylen, Jadyn, and Brooklynn Fares. The family would like to thank his many friends, especially those at the Gladstone Hy-Vee, for their the compassionate care he received during his illness at NKC Hospital and from Crossroads Hospice.
