Shirley Nash Patterson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully in her home into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, September 30, 2024. Leaving behind a legacy of kindness that touched the lives of all who knew her, Shirley dedicated her life to serving others, and devoted her time and attention to her family. She was the sweetest soul, full of warmth, joy, and love.
Shirley was a devout woman of faith, a perfect example of the Proverbs 31 virtuous woman, showing grace and kindness to everyone she met. She was a cherished member of Victory Hills Church of the Nazarene for over 60 years. As well as attending First Century Church and Tiffany Fellowship Church in her later years. She inspired everyone with her dedication and love for the Lord. Faith was the cornerstone of her life; she raised her daughters with the same compass that guided her.
Shirley was a choir member in her church for over 60 years. She taught Sunday School, was President of a Missionary Society, and served whole heartedly in many other areas. She had the heart of a true servant.
Married for 53 wonderful years to Bud Nash, their love knew no bounds. They cherished their time together, traveling making memories, and raising their daughters. After Bud's passing, Shirley had a second chance at love, and spent nine beautiful years with Neil Patterson before his passing. In the Autumn of their lives, they found true love.
Shirley had a successful career at Sears & Roebuck for many years, as manager over the catalogue department. She had an ability to make everyone feel special and made lifelong friends with her co-workers.
Shirley leaves behind many family and friends that will forever cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Eva Ova; husband, Bud Nash; husband, Neil Patterson; daughter, Kathy Phillips; siblings Gordon Ova, Roger Ova, Dwayne Ova, Beverly Feist, and Don Ova.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Kristy Dietz (Tim); son-in-law, Johnie Phillips (Donna); grandchildren Ginger, Gretchin, Andre, Jenn, Daron and Kimberly; as well as 15 great-grandchildren whom she adored.
A service to honor Shirley’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 with a visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Tiffany Fellowship Church, 7315 NW Barry Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64153.
