Shirley Fraser

Dr. Shirley Jean Fraser, 71, Kansas City, Missouri passed away March 28, 2011. Memorial service will be at 3:00 PM Saturday April 2, 2011 with the family receiving friends one hour prior to service at Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church, 7600 NW Barry Road, Kansas City, MO. (Cremation)  She was born January 25, 1940 near Ludlow, MO. She graduated from Southeast High School Kansas City in 1958, Kansas University in 1962 and received a Ph.D. from UMKC. She was a member and local past president of Phi Beta Kappa. She began teaching biology at Smithville High School and retired from Park Hill High School after 30 years. She continued her professional career at Maple Woods Community College and UMKC. She touched the lives of many students, colleagues, friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jeff and Mike Fraser. Survivors include her parents, Dale and Lois Alley, brother, Gary (Susie) Alley, son, Jon (Janet) Fraser, four grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Michelle and Connor Fraser, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.  The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association.
