Sharlynne Don White, 84, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully on May 16, 2017. She was born April 19, 1933 in Parnell, Missouri to the late Donald Jay and Victoria (Beavers) Wilkinson.
Sharlynne grew up in Worth County, graduating from Worth County High School. She later met and married her husband, Ben White on August 3, 1957. To this union, three daughters were born. Sharlynne and her husband moved back to the Kansas City area in the early 1960s to raise their daughters. Sharlynne was an excellent seamstress and put her talent to work when she made not one, but all three of her daughter’s wedding dresses, including the dresses for the bridal parties. She was also privileged to be able to make the Pom-Pon uniforms for the local high school.
Sharlynne was a strong Christian. She attended Linden Baptist Church and previously worked as the church secretary for Gashland Baptist Church. Sharlynne was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, teaching them to cook and playing cards with her husband. After retiring, Sharlynne and Ben returned to Grant City to take care of her parents until their passing.
In addition to her parents, Sharlynne is preceded in death by her husband, Ben White and brother, Macklin Wilkinson.
Those left to cherish her memory include her 3 daughters, Candy (Steve) Bridger, Benja (Chris) Kinate, Andrea (Troy) Phillips; sister, Sarah Ray; brother, James Michael Wilkinson; grandchildren, Aubree (Luke) Wisley, Nathan (Liz) Kinate, Brandie (Misty) Scott-Hill, Corben Phillips, Camryn Phillips; 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 6-8 PM with services Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Northcare Hospice, 1500 Meadow Lake Pkwy, STE 200, Kansas City, MO 64114.
