SAUNDRA HEAD

November 8, 1940 — January 11, 2014

Saundra (Sandy) S. (Hall) Head11/8/1940 – 1/11/2014On 1/11/2014 Sandy left this world to sit along side her heavenly father after dying in NKC Hospital from natural causes following complications from Lung Cancer.  Sandy was born on 11/8/1940 to Gladys Dorothy (Gulley) Hall and Norman Garth Hall at Bethany Hospital in Kansas City, KS and was 73 years of age at the time of her death. Sandy graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1958 and married the love of her life, James Head, shortly after graduation.  During their twenty-one year union, Sandy raised three children and began working at Farmland Industries on 4/24/1972.  She became the first female manager there and, after 33 years, retired on 12/1/2005.  Sandy also worked at the Liberty Hills Country Club as manager of the clubhouse.  In both jobs she encountered hundreds of people whom she considered to be friends and tempered hard work with a genuine love of life. Sandy was an inspirational and self-motivated individual who moved through this world with an angel on her shoulder.  She loved her family and there was no person who came into contact with her that was not moved to be a better person.  She was a kind, loving and peaceful soul who knew no stranger. Sandy fully embraced the Unity teachings of spirituality and practiced these teachings every day.  Sandy was a dedicated member of InVision Church, Northmoor, Mo. While raising three children, Sandy loved to bowl, cook, play bingo, travel, make new friends and spend time with her family. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and uncle, Norman Atchison.  She is survived and will be sorely missed by her brother, James (Jimmy) Hall (Cheryl), Aunt June Atchison, daughter, Rachelle (Greg) Volker, daughter, Janet (Steve) Koval, son James (Mike) Hall, 9 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 1 great granddaughter, 4 great grandsons and many other family members whom all loved her dearly. A memorial celebration of Sandy's life will be held on Tuesday 1/21/2014, 11:00 am at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 N.W. 108th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155.  Visitation will start at 10:00 am at the same location.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the
