Sarah Welchon

Sarah Elizabeth Welchon, 92, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017, surrounded by family. Sarah was the only child, born February 10, 1925, to Foster and Jessie (Cochran) Tomlin, in Carroll County Missouri. Sarah married Donald Walker Stice, who passed away in 1989. She later married Ivan Welchon, who also passed in 1998. She retired as postmaster in Tina, Missouri, and was always willing to help her neighbors in need. In her free time she enjoyed reading, spending time with Sweety her cat, and collecting frogs of all shapes and sizes. She loved teaching her granddaughters how to bake and decorate cakes. She will always be remembered for her positive attitude, her great love of her family, and  her strong faith in God. She was a member of the Bosworth Baptist Church.

Sarah was preceded in death by both her parents, both husbands, her son Calvin Walker Stice, and a grandson Christopher Alan Bennett.

She is survived by her daughter, Betsy Bennett, of Kansas City, MO, 2 granddaughters; Ginny Worster, and Amie (Nic) Stinson, three great grandchildren; Jessica Worster, Davyn and Claira Stinson.
