Sanford Eugene Alexander “San” died peacefully on April 27,2018 in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 77.
San was born on August 24, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Eugene and Velma Alexander. He attended the University of Michigan for a time, and eventually moved to Kansas City. In his early career, he worked for Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company and L.M. Berry Co. In the later years, San and his wife Montica have owned several businesses, and currently own The Best of Kansas City in Crown Center.
As an extremely accomplished golfer, he played for years at the former Southview Golf Club and currently at Hodge Park in the Men’s Association. He was club champion in 2009 and 2010.
San played golf almost every day of the year. He had two requirements: daylight and no snow on the greens. He always played with a big cigar that he called his ‘breathing device’ that enhanced his golf game. He had 7 Hole-in-Ones in his lifetime!
San loved his golf, his cigars, his family and his beloved Siberian Huskies over the years.
Surviving Family Members include his wife Montica; twins, Mitch and Amanda, sons David and Dan; daughter, Dawn (Wayne) Close; Grandchildren Jill, Nicole, Kimberly, Michael, Kira; four Great Grandsons and his Brother, Jim (Marilyn) Alexander.
