Ruth Emma Willey, 81, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at North Care Hospice. Ruth was born October 23, 1936 to Virgil and Agnes (Walk) Hamilton in Maryville, MO. She graduated from High School in 1954. While spending time in Swope Park with her sisters, she met the love of her life and on July 7, 1956 she married Francis James Willey. The couple moved to Maine, but returned to Kansas City in 1970. In her free time Ruth enjoyed knitting, working in her flower garden, watching birds, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and sisters; Mary Ann, Cecilia, and Virginia.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, daughter Rebecca Willey of Independence, MO, son Michael (Teresa) Willey of Liberty, MO, daughter Nancy Felthauser of Claycomo, MO, sisters; Lucy, Shirley, Bea, and Theresa, a brother Harold, four grandchildren; Steven, Christopher, Kyle, and Emma. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren; Stevie, Michael, Alyssa, and a host of many nieces, nephews cousins, and extended family.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Funeral Services immediately following at 11:00 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home Lakeside Chapel; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO.
