Ruth David

Ruth C. David, 82, of Kansas City, MO passed away Friday December 24th.   Ruth was born February 29, 1928 in Miami FL to Emil Charles and Ethel Donner. She received her degree as a registered nurse from City Hospital in St Louis, MO in 1952.    She worked as a nurse in St Louis, where she met her husband Clarence L. David.  They married in 1955 and moved to Kansas City in 1959.  After 22 years as a wife and mother, she returned to nursing following the death of her husband in 1979.  She worked as a nurse for St Luke's Hospital until her retirement in 1993.  Following her retirement she worked as a volunteer at St Luke's and St Luke's Northland, where she was named volunteer of the year in 2006.  She is survived by her daughters Janet and Mike Colonna, Joyce and Steve Hawks, Joann David, and Jeanne David.  Ruth was blessed with five grandchildren, Rachel and Allison Colonna, Emily, Laura and Cara Hawks.  She leaves a brother Jarvis (Chuck) Donner and his wife Cathleen of Ocala, FL.   Visitation will be held Tuesday December 28th from 6-8 pm at Mount Moriah Terrace Park 801 NW 108th Street, KCMO.  Funeral Services will be held Wednesday December 29th at 10:00 am at Platte Woods United Methodist Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St Luke's Northland Hospital Auxiliary 5830 NW Barry Rd, KCMO 64154.
