Nelda Ruth (Barlow) Crisp, born May 6, 1918 to Mary (Gilliland) and Russell Barlow of Ludlow, MO. Ruth passed from this world on January 19, 2013 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer, MO. She was an only child and was very close to her Parents as well as her Aunt Lilly and Uncle Frank and their 11 children. She grew up in the Christian Faith which provided her with great solace. Until her death she enjoyed the Hymns of her youth and sang along (often quite loudly). She married Orville O' Dell Crisp and lived there entire married life in the northland area of KC MO. Ruth worked for several years for the American Can Company until her mother became unable to live by herself and moved in with Ruth and Orville. They had no children. Orville died in 1980 and Ruth managed quite well in their home and maintained their beautiful yard and flowers, that she so enjoyed.In 1999 she moved to Assisted Living at Heritage Village in Gladstone and in 2005 moved to Golden Age N.H. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband and first cousins: Carol Lamb and husband Russell, Richard Gilliland, Grace Smith and husband Chancey, Pat Gilliland and wife Geraldine. She is survived by first cousins: Mina Lee Anderson (Ralph), Nina Thomas (Erwin 'Tommy' deceased), Marilyn Carson (Paul), Nola Zeltwanger (Bill), Janice Swanson (Larry deceased), Dohn Gilliland (Joyce) and David Gilliland (Betty Ann).Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Mount Moriah Terrace Park with visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation (816-333-9200) or to Golden Age Nursing Home Braymer, MO.Crossroads Hospice provided excellent care for Ruth and for her loved ones as well. They made for a peaceful passing and we know Ruth is now rejoicing with her family and many friends on the other side. We love you Fuss!
