Rubye V. Starks, 96, of Kansas City, MO; died at St. Luke’s Hospice House on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. She was born in New Bloomfield, MO on October 5, 1918 to the late Marcellus W. and Beulah (Corley) Cave.
Rubye lived in Platte Woods, MO for more than 60 years, she was one of 13 children, six of whom survive and six preceded Rubye in death. She was an avid traveler going on many cruises and traveled the world 3 times, she enjoyed cooking, swing music and was a founding member or the Platte Woods Garden Chatter Club; she loved her family and enjoyed all that life had to offer.
She was the loving mother of Richard (Sharon) Starks and Jacqueline (the late Dennis) Becker; cherished grandmother of Tricia (Michael Pierce) Starks, Lara (Jeff) Baley; great-grandmother of Melissa Baley, Ben Pierce and Sam Pierce.
Visitation will be Friday, July 3, 2015 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Interment will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter 1356 MO-9, Kansas City, MO 64152.
