Ruby A. Brewer, 81, of Kansas City, MO passed away June 6, 2016. Funeral services will be Friday June 10, 2016 at 2 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO with visitation 5-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Weston Church of the Nazarene, 19495 Co Rd H, Weston, MO 64098.
Ruby was born February 12, 1935 in Stillwell, Oklahoma to Ollie E. and Stella O. (Raymond) Hatfield. She married her sweetheart, Charles Brewer, on February 15, 1953. She worked at Dolly Madison Bakery for 17 years, where she met the love of her life, Charles. After this venture, she worked for over 20 years at Townley Hardware until their closing. In 1994, Ruby retired form Opportunities Unlimited in North Kansas City so she could babysit her grandson.
Ruby was well known for her banana pudding and the fish fries her family would always gather for.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; son, Larry Brewer; sisters, Mildred Langston, Mozell Brooks and brother, Charles Hatfield.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (Paul) Billington; grandchildren, Jamey Billington, Jennifer (Gabe) Wagner, Teresa Fulk; great-granddaughters, Hannah and Emma Wagner; brother, H.R.
