Rose Owens

Rose Owens, 70, of Kearney, MO died peacefully at home Jan. 24, 2021. Rose was born March 6, 1950 to Rita and Anthony Sanchez in Kansas City, MO. She leaves her husband of 30 years, Harold Owens.

She attended Lillis High School before graduating from Redemptorist High School in 1968. Rose was employed at Hallmark Cards then the Kansas City Star. After 17 years of employment at the Star, she retired. She was an active member in her community. After her retirement, she spent time volunteering at The Cathedral, the Star and at NKC Hospital. Rose also took pride in caring for her parents.

Rose is survived by her father, Anthony Sanchez who is 100 years old; her sister Ramona Sanchez; brother, Robert (Amy) Sanchez all of Kansas City. Rose also leaves nephew, Brian (Carla) Gill of St. Louis, 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew and their children. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Buso Sanchez Hernandez and her sister, Alicia Sanchez.

There will be no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, Rose requested donations to Kansas City Hospice, 5100 Meadow Lake Pkwy, Ste 200 KC, MO 64114.
