Rose Laswell

July 25, 1936 – May 5, 2014Rose Ann Laswell, 77, passed away in her home after a long battle against cancer. Rose Ann was raised in the Gashland Community by her parents, Jack and Ruth Akin. She graduated from North Kansas City High School, and then attended Washburn University in Topeka. She married Larry Laswell shortly after. Rose Ann loved gardening and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. In her early years, she was a member of Job's Daughters Bethel 37. Rose Ann held different jobs during her life but her greatest job and joy was being a homemaker.  She is survived by her husband, Larry; daughter, Melody Shaw; grandchildren, Ryan (Danice) Shaw, Natalie (Dan) Clair and great grandchildren, Ava Shaw and Gentry Rose Shaw. Rose Ann was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly, but are joyful that her suffering has ended and that she is now with Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Rose Ann's funeral service will be 11:00am, Friday, May 9th with visitation at 10:00am at Gashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
