Rosalie Jane (Vance) Miller, 80, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, June 9, 2017 at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, Missouri. Rosalie Jane Vance was born November 18, 1936 to Hobart and Tina (Frerichs) Vance in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Adel High School in 1955. Around this time she met her future husband Robert Miller and they were married November 27, 1955. Their son David was born October 8, 1957.
Her husband’s work required the family to reside in several different areas of the mid-west, finally settling in Blue Springs, MO. in retirement for 25 years. Rosalie spent the remainder of her life caring for her family and home. After Robert retired, they traveling around the United States and spent their winter months in Alabama. She also enjoyed swimming, shopping, cooking and decorating her home. For many years the couple would spend time on their boat in Lake of the Ozarks. Rosalie was an avid KC Royals and Chiefs fan.
Rosalie was a wonderful daughter, wife and mother and was always thinking of others more than herself. She was the primary caregiver for both her father and husband in their later lives.
Rosalie had very good memories of everyone that came into her life, and truly enjoyed her visits. She was a true friend to those who knew her and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 58 years, and brother Roger L. Vance.
She is survived by her son David (Kelly)Miller of Parkville, MO., her brother Tom Vance of Winterset, IA. and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who reside all over the country.
Visitation will be Monday, June 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Funeral Services immediately following at 12:00 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO.
