Ronney Shatswell

Ronney L. Shatswell, 67, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022. He was born in North Kansas City, Missouri on September 7, 1955, to the Late Bobby L. Shatswell and Wilda Smith Shatswell.

Ronney spent his career and life serving and protecting others. He worked for the Gladstone Police Department for 22 years;  where he worked as a school resource officer for the North Kansas City School district. He enjoyed helping with the DARE Program, Bike rodeos and being McGruff the Crime Dog. He retired in 2009; and realized he was not cut out for retirement and joined the Clay County Sherriff’s department. He went on to work security at Liberty and North Kansas City Hospitals.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Karen, son Stephen (Irma Drnda) Shatswell, mother, Wilda Shatswell, sister Connie (Kent) Saunders and many other friends and extended family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, from 5-7 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home 801 NW 108th street Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, January 5, at 10 AM. Interment with Police Honors will follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. If you so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
