Romaine C. Quackenbush (Ronnie), 95, of Kansas City, Mo passed away on June 14, 2012. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday June 19th at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, with visitation 5:00 - 7:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. He was born in Rutherford, NJ and was employed by Becton Dickinson and sold medical instruments for 32 years. He served 5 years in the military in WWII National Guard in New York State, 207th Coast Artillery @ Camp Stewart, GA. He then entered the Army Air Corp Pilot training class 42K receiving his wings in 1943 and served overseas in England 8th Air Force 445th Bomb Group as a Bombardier flying missions over Germany and Rhinelands. His name is on the Wall of Valor in Savanna, GA as 1st Lieutenant. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, 8th Air Force Historical Society and Northland Senior Golf Assn. He enjoyed golf, boating and fishing and loved to watch golf, KC Royals and KC Chiefs on his plasma screen TV. He was preceded in death by his wife Gwendolyn. Survivors include his son Brian, daughter-in-law Sandy and two grandsons Ryan (Melissa) and Ricky.
