Rodger Wayne Martin, 69, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on December 11th, 2013 at North Kansas City Hospital.  Funeral and graveside services will be Monday December 16th, 2013 at 2:00pm at Mount Moriah Terrace Park.  Visitation will be Sunday December 15th, 2013 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to

.Rodger was born December 14, 1943 in Carroll County, Missouri to Marion M. and Viola Amanda (Martens) Martin.  He graduated from Rich Hill High School in 1961.  Rodger was united in marriage to Mary Sue Cook on January 12th, 1964, together they had two sons Jason and Michael. Rodger was an OTR driver and retired from Consolidated Freightways in 2000.  He spent his retirement enjoying the outdoors and was an avid fly fisherman.  Rodger was a retired member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 41, a US Army Vietnam Veteran (1st Air Cavalry) and a member of the VFW Post 7356 Parkville, Missouri.Preceded in death by his parents Marion and Viola Martin and his brother Marion Donald Martin. Survived by wife, Mary Sue of the home; two sons Jason Wayne (Janiece) Martin of Platte City, Missouri and Charles Michael Martin of Kansas City, Missouri; Grandchildren Shelby Lynn Martin and Cole Wayne Martin; two brothers Emil William (Janice) Martin of Cameron, Missouri and Melvin Eugene (Marilyn) Martin of Carrollton, Missouri; sister in laws, Kathryn Martin of Excelsior Springs, Missouri and Judy E Waters of Kansas City, Missouri; and many other family members and friends.
