With his loving family by his side, Robert (Bob) Koetting, age 73, went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2017. Bob was born in Washington DC, on April 2, 1943, to Robert and Frances Koetting. He was the eldest of four children. He attended Bishop Miege High School and earned a MS in Accounting from the University of Kansas. He had a long and respected career in management with Trans World Airlines. In 1975 Bob married the love of his life, Nora Smith Garcia and they blended their families. They had three children, Michelle, Celia, and Christopher. Bob truly adored his wife and family. What he enjoyed most in life outside of his family, was traveling, playing bridge, sports, and reading. His keen, analytical mind will be dearly missed, as well as his compassion and thoughtfulness. He enjoyed life and had a wonderful sense of humor. He touched the lives of countless friends. Bob enjoyed serving his local community by delivering Meals on Wheels through Platte Senior Services.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Koetting, his father, Robert Koetting, and his brother Thomas Koetting. Left to treasure his memory are his mother, Frances Koetting, of Overland Park, KS; daughters, Michelle Holsted and her husband Steve, Cece Sumner and her husband Shelby, both of Kansas City; son, Christopher Koetting and his wife Valerie of Shawnee, KS; six grandchildren, Steven, Richard, Lauren, Tyler, MollyRae, Thomas, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother John Koetting and his wife Connie and his sister Connie Roberts and her husband Craig both of Overland Park, KS, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Bob was a man with true integrity. He was our ROCK, our stability and he will be missed by us all. He left us with wonderful memories but our greatest comfort is that he is now reunited with Nora in our Lord’s loving arms.
