Robert Cronin, 94, of Kansas City, MO passed away on October 28, 2018.
Robert was born on June 2, 1924 in Joliet, IL to Robert and Elizabeth Cronin.
He was an incredibly hard working man, spending 47 years as a merchant marine, which allowed him to travel all over the world, including his favorite destinations, Australia and Italy. He also spent many years as an ironworker and was associated with Local Union 444 in Joliet, IL.
He had many hobbies and pastimes, but he will be remembered most for his insatiable love of reading, storytelling and love of boating on the lake.
He was a true family man and his legacy will be carried on through his loving wife of 54 years, Maria; sons, James (Colleen) Cronin and John (Michele) Cronin; grandchildren, Thomas, Elizabeth, David, Maxwell, Emma, and Alexander; and sister, Cathy (Jim) Luce.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 11:00am, with visitation one hour prior at Terrace Park Cemetery – Lakeside Chapel. Burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
