Bob “G” Campbell, 73, of Weatherby Lake, Missouri, died December 21st at North Kansas City Hospital. He was the third of four boys, born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 23, 1946, to the late John and Temperance (Short) Campbell.
Bob always knew what he wanted, and never let anything stand in his way. In fact, he told his wife Renee on their first date that he was going to marry her and almost 50 years later they were still going strong!
Lovingly known as “Bob the builder”, Bob has built things all over the Kansas City area. From commercial buildings to home subdivisions, his projects can be seen all over the city. In the late 80’s Bob decided to start building his dream and what would later become his legacy, Eastbrook Business Park. Just this year Eastbrook Properties was acknowledged by the Riverside Chamber of Commerce as business of the year.
Bob was honest and dependable and there was nothing that he couldn’t do. From fixing roofs to plowing snow he never hesitated to get his hands dirty. People would always laugh and ask him why he didn’t hire more people, and his response was always the same, “why when I can do it myself?”
Bob was a loving husband, father and grandfather. When he wasn’t working, he was spending time with Renee and his family. He loved being in Florida, traveling, reading or fixing something. Bob always had to be doing something. While he was not your social butterfly, he was always the first-person friends or family would call if they were in need of advice.
Bob was committed, passionate and excelled at everything he did. He proudly served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers in the Vietnam War. He completed his bachelors and masters degrees in only 3 years. He was a registered real-estate broker, received CCIM and CPM designations and always managed to have time for the ones that he loved.
“G” is survived by his wife Renee, daughter Niki (Beau) Bradshaw, Son Chad (Stephanie) Campbell and grandchildren Kason and Everly.
