Richard L. Halloran, 68, of Kansas City, beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle and Grandfather passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 3, 2011 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born January 5, 1943 in St. Joseph, MO. Dick was the son of the late Harold J. Halloran and Dorothy Pearl Franklin Halloran. He is survived by his wife Peggy, children Kelly, Rich and Ryan, stepmother Katherine Halloran, grandchildren Brittney, Derek, Colton and Jaiden, brother Jim and wife Craig, nephew J.P. and a host of friends that share our loss. Dick was also preceded in death by a stepsister Jane Albers.Dick graduated from Savannah High School in 1961 and graduated from Northwest Missouri State in Maryville with a degree in biology. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War era as a Meteorologist in the Artillery Corps; where he achieved the rank of Corporal. Early in his career he was City Health Director for St. Joseph, MO and later a manufacturers' representative. Dick considered his customers as friends. He was a prolific reader and loved seeing the turkeys pecking outside his home office window. His favorite thing was spending time with his family and extended family members along with visiting with his many friends.Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8 at Mount Moriah Terrace Park; with dinner and get together immediately after at the American Legion in Smithville, MO.
